[4814] He was a farmer and carpenter. He enlisted as a private at the age of 32 in Co. G, 173 Reg't of the Ohio Volunteers. He became ill with rheumatism in Dec 1864 and, after much time in the hospital, was mustered out in Jun 1865. He was left disabled the rest of his life
unable to do any heavy work and very little light work, which may explain why he never moved to MO when his children and parents did.

[4815] Andrew was a widower with three children.

[4816] He had 12 children, eight listed and where they were living at the date of his death. The other 4 were already dead in 1924 and therefore not listed in the obituary.

discovered your web page. I am great great grandson of father Schoonover, which appears to be the same Joseph J. Schoonover you have. The dates, places etc. match exactly. I have some of the decendents if you want them. I was so delighted to find your information. It is so nice of you to go to all this work. [4817] She was a school teacher in her early life. After moving to Iowa in 1857, she taught two terms at Warsaw.

[4818] Land records indicate that he was in Putnam County, MO and Wayne County, IA in 1867 and 1869. According to Civil War pension records he deserted his wife on 13 Dec 1870 and later lived in Sheridan County, NE.

[4819] He served in the Civil War, was captured at Chickamaugua, and spent fifteen months in Libbey and Andersonville prisons. Until his death he suffered from scurvey that he contracted while in prison.

[4820] DEAT NOTE She died at age 1y 1m 25d.
