Not in Somerset records, ? born in Mass. According to Banks' unpublished manuscript on the Allen family in the Library of Congress, he listed his departure from Manchester Parish in England and settled in Salem, Mass.
{27, p 87} He lists his source as "List of Salem." [Not on Sandwich ATBA list, was he under 16? or was he living somewhere else? This is another William]
40, p 255 In a deed of 27 October 1647 Ephraim Tinkham and his wife Mary sold to Henry Sampson land adjoining Sampson's land in Duxbury which was one-third of the land belonging to Peter Brown, deceased; on 8 June 1650 William Allen of Sandwich and his wife Priscilla sold to John Brown of Duxbury, weaver, land in Duxbury which was one part of three which belonged to the children of Peter Brown, brother of John Brown.; and on 25 March 1668 William Snow of Bridgewater and his wife Rebecca (see Benjamine Snow #231 the second husband of Sarah Allen-connected?) sold to Ephraim Tinkham one-third of a share of land in Dartmouth which was granted to Peter Brown as a purchaser (another deed from William Allen sold to Henry Tucker on 15 April 1668 a one-third share of land in Dartmouth which was granted to Peter Brown as Purchaser) Claims of a son "Peter" were shown to be baseless by Donald Lines Jacobus, "Peter Brown of Winsor, Conn.", and Robert S. Wakefield, Peter Brown of Winsor, Conn., Not a Mayflower passenger. [end of page] get page 256]
Another William has a tie-in,42, v. 1, p. 37. William, Salem [tie-in #1] 1626, companion of Conant [tie-in #2], req. adm. 19 Oct 1630, and was made freeman 18 May following. Had Samuel b. 8 Jan. 1632; Deborah, bapt. 23 Apr 1637; Bethia, 19 Jan. 1640; Onesiphorus, b. 6 June 1642; William, bapt. 31 May 1646; and Jonathan, 29 July 1649; but of these only the first came by the first wife as she died Mar 1632; and though the name Elizabeth is given by Felt among the earliest church members he could not mark whether she were widow of William, much less, whether first or second wife. By a depon.
he gave 1664, it is judged that he was born 1602.
I am basing his age on the passenger list for his departure from Weymouth on 20 March 1636, in that record he is listed as 8 years old.
113 "By his will, 12th month, 17th, 1697, devises his estate to his nephew, Daniel, son of his brother, George Allen, (Jr.) provided he maintains his widow, Priscilla, for her life. See his will, Appendix 4." Died Sandwich--left will.
Research:
(84KR-8T) lists his place of birth as Sandwich, nice trick since his parents were in England at the time.
Arrived with his father and mother, aboard an un-named ship which had left Weymouth, , England 20 March 1635; he is listed as being "8 yeare." (1628) Boyer lists the passengers under the title "Joseph Hull Congregation" instead as otherwise referred to as "a group led by." This list has only been available since 1870:
London, Sept. 1870

This editor put Joseph Hall [Hull]
Suppose that the passengers were not personally interviewed; that would acount for the age of 24 on George. George must have been about 67? [54] The document was copied, was there an error made at that time? As far as I can determine, no one has ever asked the Public Records Office to check it.
Plymouth records.

Another? William Allen married Rose Holloway 19 May 1648 in Sandwich.53 (9) and shows the Priscilla Browne marriage as 1649.
68 (6) lists birth as 1637; also indicates there were no children of the marriage. (40) a William Allen bought from the estate of Issac Bott a piece of land containing 20 acers situated by Salmon Falls Brook in Kittery Maine, 25 Jun 1679 for D23; since 1713 called Berwick.
