He was bitten by a sarpent, while he and his father were at the Hebrew camp, was immediately cured by the touch of the "Rod of Moses". Moses prophesied tha no venomous creature should ever live where the posterity of Gaodhal should settle and that they should be the Patrons of all learning. On the advice of Moses, they seized the Egyptian's ships; from them, they beheld the Egyptians overthrown in the Red Sea. His descendants were called after him, Gaelhal (Gael).
