She was the great-granddaughter of Siward. She was previously married to the powerful Anglo-Norman baron, Simon de Senlis. To their marriage, she brought David the earldom of Huntingdon, with its extensive lands in the English Midlands, and a claim to the Vast Northumbrian estates. This made David an English baron as well as a Scottish king, a complex double title which was to have far-reaching consequences in the following years.

Connecticut according to later census records. That she may descend from Henry Adams and the Canterbury, Connecticut, branch of the Adams family seems likely. "The" Adams had a residence in Tunbridge and many years later, Peter and Abigail's son, Peris Augustus Paul, lived near an Adams family from Canterbury in Adnderson Co., Kansas, and these families intermarried. However, I have as yet to establish proof of the connection.

I am an oldtimer at genealogy but a newcomer to the internet. I have to learn a bit more. We are 4th cousins, twice removed; your grandparent in the Schoonover direction would be my fourth cousin. Anyway, I have a snapshot of Olive Paul and she has Field descendants in Kansas who I have kept in contact with. I used to write letters with Ike Field of Garnett, Kansas, and there are many stories handed down. Olive lived in Anderson County, Kansas, at least until 1865 where I found her in the state census. She gave her birthplace as Pennsylvania which might be correct. Her parents, Peter Paul and Abigail Adams, were married in 1805 in Tunbridge, Orange Co., Vermont, and are our first common ancestors.

As far as Olive Paul, she was first married to William Lafferty in Scioto County on 8 July 1830. [Scioto County Marriage Book A, p. 144] Of interest here, her brother Peris Augustus Paul, signed the marriage affidavit stating the Olive's father was deceased and that her mother gave permission. William and Olive had two children: your Harriet who married George Schoonover, and William Lafferty, Jr. After the elder William's death, Olive married John Field in Scioto County on 7 October 1839. [Scioto County Marriage Book A, p. 264 and Book B, p. 12]
John Field and Olive Paul had at least five children: James Field [1839]; Jacob Field [1842]; Isaac Field [1844-1914] m. Evaline Paul (his first cousin); George Field [1848]; and John Field [c1850/52-1931] m.
Ruth Parish. They were living in Walker Twp., Anderson Co., Kansas, in 1865 with their two youngest sons.
